Mariam Soliman
Mariam Soliman is an Egyptian visual artist whose practice is deeply rooted in an
exploration of memory, trace, and the invisible presence of past experiences. Born
and raised in Cairo, she developed an early sensitivity to the relationship between
space, objects, and personal history, which later became central to her artistic
language. She graduated from the Faculty of Art Education, where she built a
strong academic foundation in painting, drawing, and contemporary art practices.
Working primarily in painting and mixed media, she creates layered compositions
that investigate how personal and collective histories leave subtle marks on
surfaces and in everyday life. Her work is characterized by muted palettes, delicate
textures, and a contemplative visual rhythm that invites viewers to reflect on
absence, transformation, and the emotional resonance of memory.
