Sten Studio is a Mexico City–based design laboratory exploring the expressive potential of stone and minerals through collectible design. Founded by José Schnaider, the studio approaches geology as both material and muse, investigating how color, translucency, texture, and natural formations can shape objects and narratives. Its practice combines experimentation, craftsmanship, and contemporary fabrication techniques to reveal unexpected qualities within materials often perceived as rigid or static. Through sculptural furniture, lighting, and objects, Sten Studio creates a distinctive mineral language where nature, emotion, and materiality converge, transforming geological matter into pieces that invite new ways of experiencing and connecting with the natural world.
