Brief info

Sybil Layous is a Lebanese designer-maker working in clay, using coil, slab and pinch techniques to hand-build sculptural design objects and vessels. After a career in Paris fashion and launching Flor:ish, a Beirut floral project, she began working with clay in 2017 and now focuses solely on ceramics, based in Paris since 2023. Her biomorphic, nature-inspired forms explore light and shadow, symmetry and asymmetry, blurring spontaneity and intention. Neither representational nor geometric, her pieces feel uncannily familiar, merging sculpture with utility. Rooted in slow, traditional craft, her work bridges artistry and function, craftsmanship and design, tradition and modernity.
