In the first edition of the Alamein Art Fest, Art D’Égypte revealed a collection of large-scale installations by local artists, who were offered a challenge, to derive authenticity from the mundane, to make something remarkable out of something that is usually unnoticed. The artworks were products of a month-long art symposium that E2 Alamein hosted for 7 local artists. E2, IDG’s newest industrial park on the North Coast, is certified for its social and environmental sustainability policies and approaches.

Young artists were challenged to create artworks using factory waste, using art to fuse waste material with nature and the sea and capitalizing on the concept of up-cycling.
