Brief info
Geoffroy Pithon (b. 1988) is a French multidisciplinary artist based in Nantes. His practice explores painting as an immersive and spatial experience, notably through his Cabines: large-scale installations made from paintings on paper that envelop viewers in vibrant environments of abstract forms, lush vegetation and radiant blooms. Working without predefined compositions, Pithon cuts, reorganizes and recomposes fragments of his monumental paintings into new visual structures. His works often function like gardens, fertile grounds for gestures, repetitions and accidents, echoing natural cycles of growth, decay and renewal. Several of his works have recently entered the collections of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art and the Chengdu Museum of Contemporary Art.
